Role Definition
Manages part development and quality feedback loops for New Product Introduction (NPI), Continuous Product Improvement (CPI), and New Source Introduction (NSI) related activities by collaborating with suppliers, design control engineers, value chain engineering, and procurement category teams.
Responsibilities
? Managing Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Cost management related activities from concept to PPAP to deliver parts at the right quality, total cost, and meet timelines. They accomplish this through collaboration with various functional areas like packaging, transportation, business resources, supply chain, etc.
? Implementing product supply strategies aligned with the category management supply strategies that will create a competitive advantage for our customers by developing, optimizing, and integrating a world-class supply network.
? Managing the quality feedback loops to ensure lessons learned on quality defects are applied across the supply base.
? Driving Value Analysis and Value Engineering (VAVE) through cost modeling, design for manufacturability, and leveraging suppliers’ capabilities.

Job Description
JOB PURPOSE:
This position is responsible to provide inspection specifically to lab area on the aspect of Non-destructive testing to consumables and components and assemblies relating to products.
JOB DUTIES:
Include, but is not limited to:
1. Responsible to develop, perform and/or co-ordinate various Nondestructive Testings (RT/UT/MT/PT) independently to consumables, components and assemblies relating to CAT products in China facilities to determine the conformance of production procedures/process such as casting, forging, welding to required specification.
2. Develop or introduce the new NDT technologies/systems for the cost saving and the solution, to reduce the destructive testing or quality risk.
3. Provide NDT training to suppliers, CAT engineers, technicians and operators by following CAT NDT certification practice to meet demands from production. Be responsible to maintain the documents and records and effective supply of consumables relating to Nondestructive Testing.
4. Support CAT suppliers in China to develop, perform and control the Nondestructive Testing to check the parts before delivery, and train their inspectors for related inspection methods. Support Global Purchasing to audit the supplier's inspection procedure.
5. Leverage CAT global NDT engineering knowledge and experts
6. Solve shop problem with proper NDT procedure to detect defect and control quality, can develop NDT procedure and summarize the testing data, work with other professional engineers together to find out solution.
7. Maintain the 17025 lab system on RT or other NDT methods.
8. Be familiar with Computed Radiography system and perform the inspection on Castings.
9. Working with the technician to finish the lab reports as the customers/specifications' requirements.
BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE:
1. 2~4 years of education in machinery/material field with more than 5 years of experience in NDT field is required.
2. Prior experience in inspection, metallurgical analysis or welding fabrication and casting will be of helpful.
